About Our Pastor

Pastor Miguel Torneire

Pastor Miguel Torneire was born and raised in Brazil. Thanks to his grandparents, he grew up in a Christian home. The Lutheran origin of him is also due to them, since they were very consecrated and instructed in the teachings of Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions. However, Pastor Miguel showed his grandparents his desire to put his faith into practice, serving others and the community. This also motivated him to the point of becoming a Pastor and missionary. With cross-cultural experience of over 20 years, having studied for a couple of years in Argentina and being a resident and non-resident missionary in Guatemala and Central America respectively, it empowers him as an experienced missionary in that regard. His theological and missionary training came through various Lutheran seminaries and universities in Brazil, Argentina, and the United States, where he earned his Bachelors of Divinity and Theology, as well as a Master of Arts. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Missiology. He received a call to serve as a Pastor and missionary in Baltimore, Maryland, especially to the Latino/Hispanic community of Highlandtown. Miguel, in addition to being a pastor, is a husband and father, he is married to Diane and together they have two beautiful children, Sam and Lucas.
